We met in March 2024 in Durham, NC. Our first date was at a noisy bar which we quickly left for a quieter bar so we could hear each other.
We enjoy going on walks with our dogs, Daisy and Enyo, playing the NYT games like Connections, camping, and going to concerts. Jake does improv and sketch comedy. Emily is a regular at the local figure drawing meetup. Our lives in Durham are full of friends, and we’re thrilled to have so many of them at our wedding.
On November 8th 2025, at Stone Mountain, North Carolina, Jake got down on one knee and asked Emily if she would marry him. She said yes.
More details will be shared as we get closer to the wedding day. Keep checking back. If you have a question that’s not answered here, let us know by sending a message through the contact form at the bottom of the page.
We’re so excited to celebrate our marriage with our closest family and friends. As we are keeping it intimate, only those formally invited on your invitation can be accommodated.
We can’t wait to see our loved ones all dressed up for our big day! The dress code is Whimsical Garden Formal. (On a practical note, please be aware that the reception will be outdoors. You may want to bring a light jacket. Flats, wedges, or chunky heels are encouraged for walking on grass.)
We love your kids, but we’ve decided to make our reception an adults-only evening. We hope you’ll take this as a chance to enjoy a special date night.
Our reception will be held at a private residence in Beaufort, North Carolina. Parking will be available at Tiller School and shuttles will be provided. There will be no parking at the reception location.
Details to come. Please check back later.

The most important gift is your presence, but if you would like to contribute to our registry funds, you may do so at our Zola registry.
We recommend booking accommodations in Beaufort. There are several charming inns and hotels nearby. Please refer to our travel page for more details and recommendations.
